Spanish I is the introductory course in the Spanish language and culture. During this course, the students will develop speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills in Spanish around topics related to the everyday life of a student. The students will learn conversational responses and work with the grammar items essential for understanding. The students will use conversation and vocabulary in the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes as the basis for meeting the TEKS. The expected outcome of this course is developing Novice mid-high proficiency. This course is conducted in Spanish a significant amount of time.
